Job Description

This role entails managing the Grid Infrastructure aspects of utility-scale PV power plants and BESS projects, including cables, substations, and other external structures. It ensures seamless project development, execution, energization, and handover to O&M.

Responsibilities 

  • Grid Connection Design & Development: Engineer and design grid connections for utility-scale PV power plants, ensuring compliance with grid codes and technical standards
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Specify, tender, and manage technical aspects of interconnection infrastructure while overseeing subcontractors during project design and execution
  •  Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with utilities, stakeholders, and third-party advisors, ensuring clear communication and technical alignment throughout the project lifecycle
  • Project Development Support: Conduct grid feasibility studies, evaluate access, and provide technical expertise during early project stages and due diligence processes
  • Support & Continuous Improvement: Assist the EPC sales team and internal grid-focused initiatives, contributing expertise on time, cost, quality, and risk in various global markets
Qualifications
  • Academic degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or similar with a focus on energy technology
  • 8+ years, including independent work, mentoring juniors, and managing international grid connection projects (medium to extra-high voltage)
  • In-depth knowledge of energy technology, European NC RfG compliance, and German TSO/DNO grid connection processes
  • Proficient in MS Office, grid compliance studies, and simulation/CAD tools (Power Factory, PSS/E, AutoCAD). Certifications (PMI, Power Factory) are a plus
  • Fluent in English and German (at least B2)
